The Standerwick Beer Festival 28th - 30th May 2010

This year we will be having 20 Real Ales and 5 Farmhouse Ciders. We try to use micro breweries from somerset and wiltshire alongside out massively popular Badger range. Watch this space as I will be listing the ales as soon as they are confirmed.
Daytime activities.
Saturday - Tug of War
We will be holding a Tug of War competition, we are looking for people to enter their teams (ladies and gents) to see who can hold the first Standerwick Cup!!!
Sunday - Skittles
Again we are looking for teams to enter the Standerwick Skittles Showdown, playing outside teams of four to see who gets to be the first on the Standerwick Trophy.
Three Nights of Entertainment
Friday Night
We are pleased to announce that we can confirm The Mangled Wurzels will be performing from 9 until late.
The Mangledwurzels are a three-piece Scrumpy & Western band based in Somerset writing and performing in the style of Adge Cutler. Formed in early 2005, the band has established themselves across the West Country with their highly entertaining live performances blending classic Wurzels songs with self-penned original compositions and pop standards 'Mangled' in true Wurzels tradition.
With a deal signed with independent record label Loose Records (who had the real Wurzels on their books in the 1990s), The Mangledwurzels released their critically acclaimed second album "Wurz'Ee II" in July 2009 containing fifteen original Wurzels-flavoured, cider-fuelled, Scrumpy & Western songs reeking with rustic charm.
Saturday Night
We have a highly recommened local band call NOMEANFEAT who will be getting the party going with their 'foot stomping blues'.
NOMEANFEAT are a five piece, upbeat, rhythm, rock and blues band. Think guitar led rock (with keyboard, bass and drums) that gives a raw but tight sound, creating rock tempo blues that you just have to get up and dance to. NOMEANFEAT gig in local pubs, clubs, events and private parties. The music comes from the 60s 70s 80s and 90s but recalls the era of British rhythm and blues. This is music that stomps out pulse and beat, that builds and drives with controlled guitar breaks, harmonica and strong blues vocals.
Sunday Night
We aare please to welcome back 'Skinny Girl Fat' and her Karaoke and Disco, Louise will be giving us her unique and energetic entertainment, as a local she knows how to get us all going!
